DIS Mission Statement
Dibber seeks to give students an international education that promotes the students to become life- long learners, with a caring attitude, and a respectful approach to different cultures and beliefs.
Dibber wants to provide the students with a positive work environment that includes an atmosphere of cooperation and a mutual respect for other individuals’ values and ideas.
Dibber believes that by providing our students with a unique opportunity and foundation to develop a knowledge and appreciation of music and the arts we can guide our students to become responsible, respectful, and open-minded citizens within a global community.
Our school in Sollentuna
A stable and humane society is built on knowledge and constant development. The knowledge and understanding that the kids collect in school are carried with them on their future endeavours. With Dibber International School, we want to be an international school where our pupils can grow as people and world citizens. A school that lays the foundation for lifelong learning, with great emphasis on both academic and aesthetic subjects, and where modern technology is a given. It is when thought and feeling interact that a person can develop, and consequently their learning will be maximised.
We offer a Swedish primary education, F-9, together with IB’s pedagogical framework, which gives each pupil the best conditions for a global future. We attach as much importance to the academic as to the aesthetic subjects, which is noticeable in the study results.
We look at humans holistically. When the child’s creativity and fine motor skills work together, the child’s desire, participation, perseverance, concentration are promoted and improved. In this way, the academic and aesthetic learning processes complement each other. We have been working with music for a long time already from preschool, now it is expanded under the Dibber International slogan together with extended teaching in English.
We are facing major global issues that must be resolved in the future. Therefore, technology and digital innovation are a must for our children. This places higher demands on our ability to provide all pupils with good digital skills.
Prevention and health-promoting work
At Dibber International School in Sollentuna, we work actively with prevention and health promotion.
At our school, there is mutual respect for each other’s values, thoughts and ideas.
We have an active pupil health team which works together with all teachers to ensure that all pupils succeed in achieving their goals, feel safe and develop friendships in a calm and encouraging environment.
Music at DISS
We inspire our students by using the universal language of music to unlock creativity across cultural boundaries. With a focus on string instruments, each grade has its own orchestra in this unique environment.

Our pedagogy is based on four pillars
1. An interaction between LGR 22 and IB
We follow the Swedish National Curriculum LGR 22 and we have also adopted the IB (International Baccalaureate) framework. IB’s pedagogy is based on research and aims to develop critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, communication and innovation skills.
Dibber International schools provide both the PYP and MYP programmes (Primary and Middle Year Programmes) These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that DISS believes is important for our students.
For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit http://www.ibo.org.
2. Bilingualism
We teach in both English and Swedish. English is introduced gradually, ensuring a comfortable and suitable pace for each student whilst Swedish remains a core part of our curriculum, with students learning to seamlessly switch between both languages. This approach prepares them to confidently pursue further studies in either Swedish or English, whether in Sweden or at an IB school abroad.
3. Academic and aesthetic subjects
We have a holistic view of people. When a child’s creativity and fine motor skills interact, the child’s desire, participation, perseverance, concentration excels. Due to this, the academic and aesthetic learning processes support each other. Take a closer look at your local school how they work with the aesthetic subjects and if they have increased teaching and learning to promote the aesthetic subjects.
4. Technology and innovation
Dibber International School wants to make students ready for the future, hence we place importance on innovation and digital technology. Technology should contribute to improving society. We are facing major global issues which will need to be resolved which makes digital literacy and innovative thinking skills critical for our children. This places utmost importance on our ability to provide all students with sound tech skills.
